How do we do it?

We start with a high quality jpeg, PDF, eps, or Ai file of your logo. From there we upload your company logo into our software and begin the design process. Once the design process is complete, we create tool paths and depths for your program, then load up the ice and press start! A computerized router precisely engraves your logo into the ice. After the program runs, we unload the ice and add the finishing touches. This can include detailing the ice with Japanese chisels, polishing the ice with irons, and making the bottom of the logo perfectly flat so that we can refreeze it to the support piece. Lastly, a manager inspects the finished sculpture and must approve the work prior to being boxed.

We do charge extra to match company colors inside a sculpture. There are three methods we use to match colors. We prefer to use colored sand for most designs, however, there is only so much colored sand to choose from. If we cannot match color with sand, we use the gelatin method. This method involves dissolving gelatin and then adding the colors we need to the gelatin mixture to create a custom color that matches your logo. The last method we use would be to print the logo on paper. Next we place the paper logo into the ice and freeze it inside. Generally, we do not freeze paper into the ice unless the logo is very large or complex.
